Lady C Sogunro-Koko Twenty-four years ago, a passionate healthcare professional embarked on a mission: to create a haven for young people navigating the complexities of sexual health service. Thus, MyHealth was born, later named MyHealthnet as a beacon of hope, education, and support.
The visionary behind MyHealthnet believed every young person deserved access to accurate information, compassionate care, and non-judgmental space. She rallied a team of dedicated nurses, counsellors, and educators, igniting a movement that would touch countless lives.
MyHealthnet shattered taboos surrounding sexual health. From bustling community centres to discreet online platforms, they reached out to young people across the UK. Their motto is protecting and enhancing community health and well-being. And mantra: “Knowledge is power. ” Workshops, seminars, and outreach programs became their tools of empowerment.
Meet Andrew, a gay teenager seeking acceptance. MyHealthnet provided not just medical advice but also emotional support. Andrew's journey from fear to self-love became a testament to MyHealthnet’s impact. All young people in need are welcome at MyHealthnet as users/providers.
MyHealthnet faced adversity – Poor resources, and misinformation. Yet, they persisted. Their commitment to “Youth Health Event and Engagement ” and future programmes was a phenomenon, sparking conversations in schools, colleges, and homes. With support, young people benefit more
MyHealthnet’s Twitter feed buzzed with positivity. #HealthyYouth, #KnowYourRights, and #SafeChoices trended. Real stories poured in - testimonials of resilience, courage, and healing.
MyHealthnet’s influence transcended borders. Partnerships with global groups can amplify their impact. Wherever users and partners are located, young voices echoed: “MyHealthnet saved me.”
As MyHealthnet celebrates 24 years, they look ahead. Virtual clinics, AI-driven chatbots, and personalised health plans - innovations that honour their legacy while embracing the digital age.
Thank you to the tireless volunteers, the empathetic past and current counsellors, the tech wizards, and the brave young souls who shared their stories. MyHealthnet’s heartbeat thrives because of you.
